Wasps who go head to head with Bath this weekend for a place in the Guinness Premiership Final, will travel to Scotland to face an Edinburgh side who have recorded their best ever finish in the Magners League this season.
Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan, who won 32 caps for Scotland, revealed he was looking forward to his return trip to Murrayfield as part of Wasps preparations for the 2008/09 season.
"We are delighted to be able to confirm we will be playing Edinburgh as part of our pre-season schedule for next season.
"My old friend Andy Robinson has done an outstanding job with the Edinburgh team, making them very competitive again. It's important to have some good challenging games as part of pre-season preparations and I have no doubt Edinburgh will provide us with that, so I'm looking forward to catching up with Andy and everyone at Edinburgh Rugby in August."
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Edinburgh Head Coach, Andy Robinson said: "We want to start with a bang next season, so playing against a side like Wasps and will enable us to test exactly how our pre-season preparation work is going."
"We wanted to have a home game and I think it is a really good fixture for us; playing against the former European champions and also a team that has played outstandingly well this year."
