Stevenson has been involved with the team since 2003 as assistant coach and took over as coach in 2006, when the team won the Churchill Cup tournament in Canada.
Howarth joined the side as assistant coach last year.
NZ Maori will play in the Pacific Nations Cup tournament this year, replacing the Junior All Blacks who won the tournaments in the past two seasons.
Peter Potaka will continue as the NZ Maori team's manager.
