The USA’s North America 4 teams, which have now been separated into geographical regions, will be led by management staff and coaches reflecting a broad experience in American Rugby.
Leading the eastern NA4 squad, which has been tagged the Hawks, will be Marty Wiggins as head coach. Adam Friend and Bill LeClerc will back Wiggins up as the assistant coaches, while Ken Holliday fills the manager role.
The Pacific side, also known as the Falcons, will be led by head coach Stu Krohn, who will be assisted by Mike Saunders and Ray Lehner, while Craig Brown has signed on as the manager.
The NA 4’s first US-based match, which pits the Falcons versus the Hawks in their first geographical clash, will be held at Mount Hood Community College on July 10.
Staffing USA Rugby’s development side, the Select XV’s, will include head coach Mike Tolkin, along with Ron Laszewski and Chris Osentowski as the assistant coaches, and Lex Maccubben as the manager.
The Select XV’s team is set to compete against England Counties on June 6 and 9, in New York, and coverage of the matchup will be delivered online at ESPN360.com.
"We are now at the beginning of a new Rugby World Cup cycle,” said USA Rugby’s CEO and director of rugby operations Nigel Melville following the appointments.
“USA Rugby is looking to create a strong group of elite coaches and managers who can help produce players and teams capable of playing at the highest level.”
