Chile, Romania, Georgia and Uruguay all enjoyed victories on the opening match day of the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy played across two venues in Santiago, Chile, on Tuesday.
The host nation ran out 33-10 winners over the Cook Islands to top Pool A from Romania, who edged Namibia 28-26 in the opening match at the Stade Français Club.

Georgia's experience proved too much for Jamaica on their debut as they kicked off their challenge with a 90-3 victory at the Estadio San Carlos in Pool B, while Uruguay overcame Korea 67-8.

The next matches take place on Saturday 19 April when Romania face the Cook Islands and Chile tackle Namibia at Estadio San Carlos in Pool A. Georgia's next opponents are Korea, while Jamaica will hope to bounce back against Uruguay at the Stade Français Club.
