France and Samoa will meet for only the second time on Saturday when the Islanders will be out to follow up their strong showing against Wales with a huge upset at the Stade de France. Their previous meeting came on Samoan soil in 1999, when the French were 39-22 winners in front of 15,000 fans at Apia Park. Thomas Castaignede started at fly-half and picked up 19 points thanks to a try, two penalties and four conversions. France's other tries came from Pierre Mignoni, Olivier Magne, Eric Artiguste and Marc dal Maso. The home side felt the wrath of Welsh referee Clayton Thomas as wing George Leaupepe and hooker Trevor Leota were both shown red cards.
