Richie McCaw will not sacrifice results for entertainment and is expecting a clinical display from his New Zealand side when they take on England at Twickenham on Saturday.

The lack of try-scoring action during this season's November Tests has dominated media coverage in the build-up to this weekend's games but McCaw insists that his side will still be prioritising the result against a misfiring England side.

The All Blacks have scored only twice on their northern hemisphere tour, with hookers Andrew Hore and Corey Flynn scoring against Wales and Italy respectively.

"People enjoy watching entertaining rugby, they love to see lots of try scoring and we like to play like that," he said. "Sometimes it can be physical with not many opportunities but at the end of the day we want to win the game, that's all you can do.

"I love to come off the field having scored four or five tries because that usually means you have won the game. We don't want to chuck the ball about because it looks good, we want to win."

McCaw is also expecting England to cause some problems for his side despite the stinging criticism which has accompanied their loss to Australia and narrow victory over Argentina last weekend.

"England will be a passionate bunch I'm sure, especially after the last few weeks," he said. "They're going to put us under pressure, that's exactly what we are anticipating. Is it a good time to play them? I'm not sure; it's always an enjoyable Test when we play England. Whenever you play an England team it is always pretty exciting."

All Black centre Ma'a Nonu is also expecting a tough examination from England, with the selection of his opposite number Ayoola Erinle putting him on notice for a more direct gameplan from Martin Johnson's men. Erinle replaces the tricky Shane Geraghty and will test Nonu in contact.

"I've had a look at Erinle and seen some of the games he's played for Biarritz. He's a big boy. It will be a tough challenge," he said. "I guess the physical approach has always been England's game. I thought Geraghty had played well in the last two Tests.

"He compliments Jonny Wilkinson well. He's got a big boot but the size of Erinle suggests they want to play a more direct game. They played pretty well against Australia when they went wide. They've got a lot of skill in the backline. They can either be direct or use a lot of second-hand play. Those boys are big but they are skilful at the same time."
